  • Episode 100. Brunette Lannisters / So énTIDAL.

    21/10/2017 Duration: 01h22min

Episode 100. Now it all makes sense.. Don't call it a milestone. S'Hershel and I hung out at the Commercial Hotel on a Sunday afternoon and reflected on things, with podcasting, life and whatever in between. We laughed, we sung and were joined by some random guy named Darryl (Port Kembla copped on). Remember to keep an eye on our Facebook page for when we're having our semi regular Sunday sessions on Wentworth Street; the greatest street there is. "Can I watch the end of the footy?"

  • Episode 99. 2 Kurt's are better than 1 (for some).

    08/10/2017 Duration: 01h42min

Alright, time to kick this shit into overdrive ladies, gentlemen and non-specific folk. It's been a while, but we're trying something here. More on that in a second. This episode was recorded on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Port Kembla at the mighty-mighty Commercial Hotel (now with a bistro, check it out here). I was joined by regular fictional character, S'Hershel Walker, and he brought along his two pals Paul Keys (racking up appearance #2) and someone I've wanted to record with for a long time now, but for legal reasons we'll call him Tragic Johnson. We shot the shit in the beer garden, and even picked up a performance artist dressed as William Wallace along the way.  Keep an eye on the Pod Kembla Facebook page for details on when we do these, the plan is we'll post about it the day of or just before, and those who see it and are keen to come along to hang, then here's your invitation. Keep them peepers peeled! In the meantime, if you like this silly thing we do then tell anyone who'll listen. Share it

  • Episode 98. S'Hershel and Sheap wanna feeeeeeel good.

    06/09/2017 Duration: 01h28min

Yet another return after a lengthy period. I may not be consistent, but I'm consistent with my inconsistency. It's a return on levels; back to the Commercial, Sean Sheap and S'Hersel Walker are also back.. Hashtag something else back, too. Because; rule of comedy. Something. Laugh along with us or at us, either or. We're not out to hurt anyone, we just want to make you feeeeeel good.

  • Episode 97. Comic Gong 2017, with Sean Sheap & S'Hershel.

    25/05/2017 Duration: 01h40min

Comic Gong 2017! Sheap, S'Hershel and myself returned to the epicentre of Illawarra fandom for another year running. These are our stories. Special mentions go out to Louise and Fiona for the Co-Production assists, and Lenny for providing the "ambiance" for the first five minutes. Thank-you linesmen, thank-you ball-boys.

  • Episode 96. Everybody loves massaman, with S'hershel and Paul Keys.

    11/05/2017 Duration: 01h32min

We start off on a sad note with this one, Wollongong Hip Hop lost one of it's more colourful characters last week, rest in peace to Rob The Rich as well as condolences to his family and friends.  Afterwards it's the return of S'Hershel Walker, wherein he brought his mate Paul Keys over to my place a few weeks ago. We drank wine, ate garlic bread & spaghetti and talked utter silliness. With a few sneaky songs thrown in for good measure. Spoiler alert: I wasn't the one singing or attempting any music of any kind, never fear.

  • Episode 95. A Road Trilogy.

    25/04/2017 Duration: 01h32min

This one is bad with a capital shit. Two weeks ago I went on a whirlwind drive around New South Wales for work in 2 days. I was delirious, I recorded some of it, you've been warned. The link to the video I was talking about on the intro can be found at podkembla.com.

  • Episode 94. Nik Ranger of Dada Ono.

    10/04/2017 Duration: 01h09min

This week I had a chat with Nik Ranger of Melbourne band Dada Ono. Did we talk about music? Hell nawww! That would be too professional of me wouldn't it? Be that as it may, we had a lovely chat about a bunch of things, but it all ends with Star Trek, cats and podcasts, which basically sums up my life. The music speaks for itself anyway, for which you'll hear in the episode. You can go two better though, head over to their bandcamp page and get Dada Ono's album "Granny Loves Smith", and head out to Dicey Riley's this Saturday night and see them in person if you happen to be in the Wollongong area. If not look out for Nik and Dada Ono in a town near you!

  • Episode 93. Back to Iron Fist, with Sweeney.

    28/03/2017 Duration: 01h32min

THIS WEEK! It's a good ole fashioned bit o waxing philosophical with Sweeney, live from the West Coast. If you've been listening for a while, you'll know his voice, and maybe even know him in person. If you haven't and you're new, first of all welcome, and then second of all; brace yourselves to hear two grown men, who could talk to each other underwater and with mouths full of rocks about pretty much anything.   I'm almost 34 and I still have no idea how sentences should be structured, oh and I say "basically" a lot now it seems.

  • Episode 92. You're out of your element Donnie, with Jochen Gutsch of Hinterlandt.

    20/03/2017 Duration: 51min

Sometimes, doing this silly podcast affords me the opportunity to be exposed to people and ideas I may have never come across. Sometimes I even get to talk to these purveyors of interesting ideas and projects, and this is one of these episodes. Meet Jochen Gutsch, the sound architect behind the Sydney instrumentalist group Hinterlandt. Jochen was nice enough to take some time out of his day to tell me about his journey from Germany to Australia, and his decades of playing very eclectic music. Hinterlandt are touring at the moment and will be playing in Wollongong at Jane's this Friday night (24th of March) launching their latest album, Ode to Doubt, through Sydney label; Art as Catharsis. I've included a couple of their songs on this episode, but do yourself a favour and listen to the whole album yourself. Find it on Bandcamp, or head to their site (http://hinterlandt.org) to get their history and links to all of their music and future shows. Massive thanks to Jochen for chatting to me and enduring my very ba

  • Episode 91. Universal Bolognese with Ben & Nick of Food Fusion.

    12/03/2017 Duration: 01h04min

The Food Fusion boys met me at Dicey Riley's and we talked fusing food, the correlation between my version of bolognese and my former grass roots revolutionary movement, reality television and food.. And other things. We were even lucky to get a surprise cameo from a guy none of us knew. All in an afternoons podcasting.  I know I've used the intro song before, but it's called "Ice Cream Man" so it's food, so it's related. That and it's a gritty pimpsploitation movie compressed into 4 minutes. In the most awesome of ways.

  • Episode 90. Oozing club with Ben.

    06/03/2017 Duration: 01h56min

Long intro, even longer episode! On this one I met up with scholar, podcast producer and friend of mine, Ben, and we hung out at Port Kembla Leagues on a Saturday afternoon and discussed comics, Stephen King and the internet. With a few other things thrown in for good measure. If I wasn't such a lazy man I'd have a number of links for you to click, everything mentioned on the episode in fact. Instead I thought I'd direct you to the podcasts Risky Business and Roguelike Radio, which for me were the big takeaways from this one. I love me a new podcast recommendation! Oh, and read Ronin by Cranky Frank Miller. If that name hasn't been used before (doubtful) then I claim it as my intellectual property by the power vested in me by posterous dot com. Remember them?

  • Episode 89. Octominded with Andy Social Dowling (Post Float @ Cocoon: Part 2)

    24/02/2017 Duration: 56min

Crossover! Swapcast! Collaborayshun!!  Anyone who listens to this podcast knows who Andy is; the guy gets a mention nearly every episode. I'm sure I'm frightening him at this point.. Don't tell him I said that! On this one, we met at Cocoon Floatation a few weeks ago on a very warm Sunday morning for a float session at Cocoon Floatation. It was actually the night after the mighty-mighty Sean Sheap's 40th, wherein my son showed far more charisma at not even the age of 2, than I've managed in my entire 33 years on this planet.. But that's another story.  Andy and I recorded beforehand, which can be found by clicking here, and this is straight afterwards. Cocoon is a really cool place, and you couldn't find a better Float Facilitator and purveyor of the good vibes than Megan. I implore you to check out Cocoon and The Andy Social Podcast if you're not already privy. Other than that, vote marfucka! #vote

  • Episode 88. The 1st Annual Wollygong Poddies Meetup with Peter Langstaff.

    17/02/2017 Duration: 01h01min

Last month, myself and Peter Langstaff met up once again at the world famous Dicey Riley's just before he embarked on his monthlong voyage around Australia following The Boss himself, John Cougar Mellencamp.. You'll get that poor attempt at humour when you hear it. Anyway, as the Springsteen tour comes to a close, check in on Peter's blog to read all about his adventures following one of his favourite artists all over the country. When Kid Rock does an Australia wide tour one day, I'll be sure to follow in Peter's footsteps.  ALSO! So, I'm 'up for' an award at the Castaway podcasting awards in April. Look, I'm no chance to win, Casefile has it sewn up by the looks of it, and rightfully so. But hey, if you'd like to help a brother out and sling a vote my way then follow this link. https://thecastawayawards.submittable.com/gallery/fb53f574-b3c9-43c8-8585-83bb919489f4/6963704/ Thanks in advance!

  • Episode 87. She's a Poet.

    06/02/2017 Duration: 01h09min

The return!.... Again! This one has a loooong intro. Long. Sixteen minutes to be precise, including the song. A note on the intro song; it's from the recently released RTJ3 by the mighty-mighty Run The Jewels and features Zach De La Rocha and it's awesome. I can't remember if I dreamt this, or it's actually a legitimate rumour, but I've heard somewhere that there's a Zach De La Rocha solo album in the works with production handled entirely by El-P. I hope this is true, but there's been infinite talk of a De La Rocha solo album over the years with only One Day As a Lion the only thing to closely resemble that. That all being said, if you haven't heard any Run the Jewels, and this intro is your first exposure, then head over to https://runthejewels.com/music/ and cop all their shit for free. If you want to pay you can do that too.  So on this episode, Louise joins me just after we watched the Robert De Niro/Anne Hathaway starring vehicle, The Intern. Spoiler alert: I loved it. I'm a simple man it seems. We also

  • Episode 86. New Kids on the Blockstreet Boys (Back to the Record Fair Part 2)

    15/11/2016 Duration: 59min

I'm experimenting with scheduled posts for this one. If it doesn't work, well you won't see/hear it. If it does, then hooray technology! It's part 2 of our record fair shenanigans. Don't forget to follow Sean Sheap, DJ Fury, Lord Lucifer and last but definitely not least, The Crate Diggers Collective!
